Feeling Stuck?

An excerpt from The Red Chair Experience.

“Whenever I get stuck on something, I’m like, ‘What would I do if I wasn’t afraid? What would I write if I wasn’t afraid? What would I say in this situation if I wasn’t afraid?’” – Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Sometimes we can get stuck in life or on a project at work and we cannot seem to find the solution. Sometimes it is fear that holds us in place and other times it is something much bigger saying hold on.

I need you to see something. I want you to hear this. Look over here. Do you believe that there is something bigger than you that can stop you in your tracks so that you can see or hear something different than what you currently know? Maybe it is a character issue that can now have a resolution? Maybe it is a relationship that you are meant to be in? Maybe it is a career choice that was not even on your radar? Maybe it is the gentleness and calm that you need to see and hear that is getting your attention?

I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day and telling him about a direction I was considering with my business. I have been operating under the understanding that I should have a broad spectrum and serve any type of sales client. I was feeling uncomfortable, in my business, and I could not figure out why. I mentioned it to my friend, and he said maybe you should focus on what you know and the industry that you came from for the past seventeen years. It made sense and I needed to hear it because I was stuck trying to help too many people in too many different areas. It became clear when I was speaking to someone I just met on the phone. I was getting input on how he was doing his business and how that compared to mine, and I mentioned how I was thinking about creating this niche for my business. He said that it was perfect, and he was excited for me that I had a niche for my business. He said he wished he had one and was working on it for his business which he had been doing for years. I knew at that point that I needed to finalize that decision and focus my attention on my niche clients.

Are you feeling stuck today and not sure which direction you should go? Ask your friends, your family, a person you met for the first time, ask God and the universe. Help is out there waiting to be asked for!
